Water Services, Twitter and Facebook - the Mysterious Hum Investigation Continues

The team investigating the Ranchlands hum met in April. Plans to coordinate a test with the City of Calgary Water Services were put into the final phase. The test will entail shutting down some of the water pumps that are part of Ranchlands water system. Residents who have been hearing the hum will be asked if they noticed any differences between when the pumps were on and off.

At the time of this article's writing, the City and team were still trying to coordinate when this test will take place. It appears likely that the test will take place in June, during a weekday evening. The date and time the test will occur will be shared with Ranchlands residents.

The team continues to hear from residents who are noticing the hum. People have reported hearing a low sound throughout their homes. In some cases, this hum has only recently noticed. The team encourages residents who are hearing the hum, or other 'odd' noise in their homes, to please be in touch through the Ranchlands Community Association at 403-241-0321.

The team has taken advantage of social media. They have a Facebook page set up titled "Ranchlands Hum" and a Twitter account @jmidi. Residents are welcome to follow the team at these locations. The blog can still be found at http://unidentifiednoiseincalgary.blogspot.com/

The team would like to thank the Associaiton and community for their patience. This type of investigation takes a fair bit of time. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

That is curious. Maybe there is something with Calgary water that causes it.
